Sludge Dewatering and Loadout Facility Nearing Completion

Tanner Pacific, Inc. is happy to announce the successful completion of equipment performance testing for the Sludge Dewatering and Loadout Facility in Palo Alto, California.

The system includes four Andritz belt filter presses, five screw conveyors, three cake storage bins (each capable of storing 100,000 pounds of dewatered cake) and six discharge gates. As part of the testing, three successive 40,000-pound loadouts were completed successfully. This state-of-the-art process allows operators to enter the desire loadout weight in a Human-Machine Interface (HMI) to provide an even distribution of cake and to accommodate different size trucks.

The project now moves into a 30-day reliability performance test where the city’s operations staff will validate that all processes are running properly. During this phase, the construction project team will work to ensure that all equipment is performing at optimal levels. The facility is scheduled to be fully operational in April.
