Newark Pump Station Upgrade  

This project, which was completed in phases, in order to maintain continuous operation of this vital facility for the District. The work consisted of rehabilitating a regional domestic wastewater pump station including replacing critical existing equipment and constructing other various site improvements. Equipment replacement included new raw sewage pumps, modifications to existing motorized valve actuators, installation of new motorized valves and valve actuators, new piping both within and outside the station, new electrical switchgear, MCC panel and variable frequency drives (VFDs) as well as a new back up diesel generator. Site improvements included structural modifications for seismic safety, additional yard piping for pumping flexibility, fencing and paving. The project also included mechanical improvements at two other remote pump stations.
