Dual media Filter 6A/6B Buildout

This project encompassed the build-out of two existing dual media filter bays that had not been used since their construction in 1977. The work consisted of coating the insides of the concrete filter bays, construction of a filter underdrain system and troughs, placement of filter media, and installation of piping and valves to serve the two new dual media filters. Coating work included removal of an existing tar coating, repairs of the concrete filter walls, and application of prime and top coats of epoxy coating system. Piping and valve installation included tying into the existing dual media filter piping systems as well as installation and testing of the electrical equipment required to run the valves.
