Control Building HVAC Improvements

To provide a healthy and safe working environment for facility staff and prevent the accumulation of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gases in the administrative facility building, HVAC improvements were made to the SVCW control building and surrounding areas. Work included demolition of existing HVAC ducting and equipment; installation of a positive pressurization unit and ventilation fan; relocation of an intake air duct; and implementation of an automatic temperature control system, VFDs, and pressure monitoring equipment. Roof and wall penetrations were necessary to install the new system and the facility remained in use for the duration of the project, requiring heavy coordination with administrative and operational staff.
